MONARCHS WAY 'wild' camp

Monarch’s Way Campsite is our small, seasonal pop-up campsite set in a quiet orchard in the village of Trent, just five minutes from The Rose and Crown. As of April 2026, it is run by Amelia & Mal too, check-in takes place at The pub, where you will always find a smiley face & before you head over to pitch up beneath the young fruit trees, grab a pint or a snack. With spacious grass pitches for tents, campervans and a space motorhomes, it’s a simple, almost wild camping experience designed for those who enjoy nature, fresh air and a slower pace of life.

Located along the historic Monarch’s Way footpath, the campsite is perfectly placed for countryside walks, exploring the surrounding Dorset villages, or simply unwinding in the orchard with a BBQ as the sun goes down. After a day outdoors, wander back to the pub for a well-earned drink or home-cooked meal before returning to your pitch under the stars.

Guests consistently highlight the calm, back-to-nature experience of camping in our orchard. One visitor described it as a “lovely quiet place to stay”, while another praised the “peaceful, quiet, beautiful field… so lovely to wake up to the birds in the morning.” The rural setting and simple facilities make it perfect for anyone looking to slow down and enjoy the outdoors.

How to Book

Monarch’s Way Campsite is a small seasonal pop-up campsite, open for just 60 days each year during the most popular holiday periods — Easter, May half term, and throughout the summer holidays in July and August. Because the campsite is only open for a limited time each year, pitches tend to book up quickly.

Choose your dates and reserve your pitch online using the booking platform below. On the day of arrival, please come to The Rose and Crown, Trent to check in. Our team will meet and greet you at the pub before directing you to the campsite, which is just a short walk away in the orchard.

Once you’re checked in, you can head over to pitch up, settle in, and enjoy the peaceful countryside setting — with the pub only a few minutes away whenever you fancy breakfast, a drink or a evening meal.
