At The Rose and Crown, we offer a variety of menus to suit every occasion, all crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and inspired by the best of British cuisine:
Each menu is designed to offer something for everyone, whether you’re after a full meal or just a quick snack.
Whether you’re in the mood for a crisp pint, a perfectly poured glass of wine, or something a little special from our spirits selection, we’ve got you covered.
Our bar is stocked with a range of local ales, fine wines, and refreshing soft drinks to suit every taste. Perfect for pairing with your meal or enjoying on their own—cheers!
Our conservatory provides a charming setting for groups of up to 35 guests, making it ideal for both casual gatherings and more special occasions. It’s particularly well suited to our feasting menu, designed for relaxed, family-style dining around the table.
Added to the pub in the 1970s, the space is light, bright, and full of character. Large windows overlook the garden, filling the room with natural light, while an abundance of houseplants adds a soft, welcoming feel.
The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance — elegant without ever feeling formal or pretentious — offering a warm, inviting space where guests can settle in comfortably and enjoy good food, good company, and the surrounding views.
Named after legendary landlord Buff Biggin, Buff’s Bar is a characterful, semi-private space perfect for smaller gatherings of 8–20 guests. Tucked round the corner of the main bar, it offers the best of both worlds — a lively atmosphere close to the heart of the action, with a sense of your own dedicated area.
Set within the oldest part of the building, the space is full of charm and history, featuring original tiled floors, exposed beams, and a beautiful (non-working) fireplace that creates a warm focal point. One of its most unique features is the original bread oven — a lovely nod to the pub’s heritage and a real talking point for guests.
Buff’s Bar is also completely dog-friendly, making it an ideal choice for relaxed get-togethers where four-legged friends are welcome too.
Whether you’re planning a casual celebration, drinks with friends, or a small gathering with nibbles, Buff’s Bar provides a cosy and atmospheric setting with plenty of personality.
If you’re planning an outdoor celebration — or simply want to enjoy one of Dorset’s finest pub gardens — our back garden offers a beautiful, relaxed setting with sweeping views over the surrounding hills.
Designed for easy, laid-back gatherings, the space combines open seating with quieter corners, perfect for both larger groups and more intimate moments. A peaceful koi carp pond adds a touch of calm, while a selection of classic lawn games brings a fun, informal feel that’s ideal for families and celebrations alike.
Whether you’re joining us for a summer drink, a long lunch in the sunshine, or hosting a special occasion, our garden is a space to settle in, slow down, and make the most of the countryside setting.
